I’ve been checking out some screenshots of the upcoming Switch 2 eShop—and I’ve got to say, the new layout looks great. It’s cleaner, more colorful, and feels like a nice step forward.
But after going over the images (with a little help from AI to translate the Japanese), one thing still bugged me:
Where’s the cart?
Seriously, in all three screens, there’s no sign of a proper cart system.
Here’s what we’re looking at:
First screen: A beautifully organized retro menu with tabs for NES, Super NES, Game Boy, N64, GBA, etc. Games like Donkey Kong, Ice Climber, and Super Mario Bros. are front and center. It's a fun walk down memory lane—but this section is more about browsing than buying.
Second screen: Your user profile. It shows your Nintendo Switch Online subscription status (like expiration date and auto-renew info), plus icon customization options. Still, no hint of a way to queue up purchases.
Third screen: The main Nintendo Switch Online hub. You’ll find links to missions, subscriber perks, save data backup, and expansion pack details. Again, helpful stuff—but not a storefront experience.
So yeah, it all looks sleek and polished—but there’s still no way to toss a few games into a cart and check out in one go. Just like on the current Switch, it seems like it’s one transaction at a time.
Let me shop like it’s 2025
We’ve got online multiplayer, classic game libraries, and missions with rewards.
All I want is a cart. Let me buy multiple things at once without backing out and starting over every time.
How about you?
Would a cart improve your experience? Or do you like buying one thing at a time? Drop your thoughts in the comments—I’d love to hear what you think.
